Matt's Story
Built on Referrals, Backed by Real Work
Matt Harris started 704 Diesel & Welding Services in 2022 with a pretty simple idea - if the machine won't come to the shop, bring the shop to the machine. He's a hands-on guy who'd rather drive to your job site and get things fixed than have you sit around waiting for a tow. And for jobs that need to come to him, his Marshville shop is set up to handle it right.
But he's not just a mobile guy. Matt runs a fully equipped shop out of Marshville where customers bring vehicles, parts, and equipment for more involved work - industrial welding, custom metal fabrication, heavy structural repairs, and anything that needs proper equipment and space to do correctly. Drop off what you've got and he'll handle it in-house. Some jobs are better done in the field. Others are better done in the shop. Matt can do both.
Word got around fast. Most of Matt's work still comes through referrals and word of mouth, which is a good sign that people are happy when he leaves. He's built a reputation across Union County, Mecklenburg County, and into South Carolina for showing up, keeping it straight, and getting the job done right the first time.
One thing Matt noticed early on: clients would sometimes not realize all the things he could actually do. He'd wrap up one job and then get called back weeks later for something he could've knocked out the same day - whether that was a fabrication project back at the shop or a repair he could've done on the spot. That's exactly why this site exists - so you know everything on the table before you call.
